Individuation is Not Achieved Through Compliance

Individuation, becoming one’s True Self, is not achieved by complying or being accepted by the world.

This does not mean we begin breaking laws or chasing our impulses. It means acting from a place of integration and wholeness, rather than the ego and the feelings it conjures.

The difference is that the unconscious and reactivity are no longer driving our decisions. Sometimes this fits with the world’s expectations. Sometimes it doesn’t.

Invariably though, the path of Individuation requires one to drop the compulsion to comply and any decisions motivated by a desire to fit in or be accepted.

Parts of the world will push back, reject you, or pretend you don’t exist. They preferred it when you enabled their own compliance. Use the pushback as motivation to be more yourself, not to comply.

You are capable of infinitely more than fitting in.
